What the critics wrote about "Spanish Suite for String Orchestra:"

"The Sarasate pieces were creatively transcribed by violinist Stephanie Chase, and they were undoubtedly the hit of the evening.

Flamboyant and full of Spanish flavor, the three exuberant pieces had all the violinists playing the daredevil, technically challenging solo part in unison, a feat indeed. "

Melinda Bargreen, Seattle Times, June 10, 2006

"This year, violinist Stephanie Chase arranged and led three Sarasate violin and piano pieces for the group. "Caprice Basque," "Romanza Andaluza" and the familiar "Zigeunerweisen" sounded amazingly rich this way, not to mention astonishing in places where Chase divided phrases full of technical wizardry between two, three or four solo instruments. One would pick up from another almost midphrase, and in at least one instance two players almost alternated notes, one with the melody, the other with plucked accents, yet so smoothly was it done there was no hiatus in the music, which itself is full of explosive musical fireworks.  Sarasate's technical acrobatics were a resounding success."

Philippa Kiraly, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, June 10, 2006

“The soloist was the superb violinist Stephanie Chase, who played with elegance, dexterity, rhythmic vitality and great imagination. This was a Classical performance in the best sense: clear-headed, straightforward, intelligent.” - Boston Globe
